PNP neutrality in 2025 elections was the central message of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil as he reminded officers to remain impartial and focus on their duties during the upcoming national polls.

Marbil emphasized the dual mission of the PNP during every election: to ensure the safety of voters and the public, and to maintain the police force’s strict neutrality to prevent involvement in political conflicts.

He reiterated that police officers are not meant to serve any political interests but to uphold public service and defend the nation’s democratic process.

These remarks come amid a surge in political activities and rising public concern over allegations that some police personnel may be showing partisan leanings.

Marbil warned that any police officer found participating in partisan political activities will face administrative charges and possible dismissal from service.

He underscored that the role of the PNP in the elections is to guarantee that Filipinos can vote freely and without fear or intimidation.

In addition, Marbil urged police commanders and regional directors to strictly monitor their personnel and report any signs of political involvement.

He assured the public that the PNP remains committed to defending democracy and is focused on delivering peaceful, orderly, and honest elections.
