Malacañang Calls Out VP Sara for Fake News Against First Lady

VP Sara’s claims have been denounced by Malacañang, accusing Vice President Sara Duterte of spreading false information involving First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in a drug-related incident in the United States.

The Palace strongly denied Duterte’s allegation that the First Lady was involved in a case abroad that allegedly led to the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte to divert public attention.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro declared that the Vice President herself was the source of misinformation, warning the public against believing her statements.

Castro clarified that First Lady Marcos returned to the Philippines on March 10 and attended an official Girl Scouts of the Philippines event on March 11.

Due to this timeline, she added, it is impossible for the First Lady to have been involved in any incident overseas during that period.

Castro also criticized Duterte’s insinuation that the Girl Scouts event was fabricated, asserting it was a legitimate and documented engagement.

Malacañang emphasized that such claims damage public trust and raise questions about the reliability of Duterte’s public pronouncements.

The Palace urged the public to verify information and avoid contributing to the spread of fake news and disinformation.
