In her letter to Ombudsman Samuel Martires, Senator Marcos highlighted the involvement of high-ranking government officials in the incident, revealing actions that could lead to criminal and administrative charges.

Among those the senator urged the Ombudsman to investigate are Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla, Interior Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rommel Marbil, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Chief General Nicolas Torre III, and Special Envoy for Transnational Crimes Markus Lacanilao.

Senator Marcos expressed confidence that the Ombudsman would act impartially, without fear or favor, and take appropriate legal action against those found culpable.

This move follows the March 11 arrest of Duterte, who faces crimes against humanity charges before the International Criminal Court (ICC) due to his controversial anti-drug campaign during his presidency.
