CIDG illegal detention case has been filed against Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III and nine other officers over the alleged six-day unlawful detention of businesswoman Rotchelle Calle using a “photocopied” INTERPOL red notice.

The complaint was lodged before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office, where Torre and the other accused failed to appear during the scheduled preliminary investigations on April 21 and 28.

According to Calle, she was illegally arrested and detained from November 21 to 27, 2024, linked to a fraud case filed by a former business partner in the United Arab Emirates.

She claimed that several CIDG personnel offered to prevent her transfer to the Bureau of Immigration in exchange for a “Christmas gift,” which she refused.

Two days later, she was arrested at the Makati City Hall and brought to the CIDG headquarters without being shown a valid arrest warrant.

The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) sought her immediate release, arguing that no lawful basis was presented for her detention.
