A 17-year-old female student died after being hit by a motorcycle in Barangay Doyong, Calasiao, Pangasinan, following a quarrel with her boyfriend.

According to PCapt. Anthony Doctolero, Deputy Chief of Police of the Calasiao PNP, their investigation revealed that the couple had an argument in the middle of the road, as confirmed by the victim’s boyfriend who also witnessed the incident.

As the boyfriend attempted to leave on his motorcycle, the victim tried to stop him but failed.

While walking back toward the roadside, the victim was struck by an oncoming motorcycle driven by a 20-year-old male who allegedly lost control and fell on the road.

Another motorcycle then crashed into the fallen bike, adding to the impact.

Due to the severity of the crash, the victim sustained critical head injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital in San Carlos City, where she was declared dead on arrival.

Although authorities initially planned to file a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, the victim’s family opted for a settlement with the suspect.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident also in Calasiao, three minors were found to be responsible for stealing a tricycle parked in front of a residence in Barangay Ambunao.

One suspect was 16 years old while the other two were only 15.

PCapt. Doctolero said the group sold the sidecar of the stolen tricycle for ₱1,300 to a junk shop in Barangay Tuliao, Sta. Barbara.

Although the junk shop was unaware of the ownership of the sidecar, they cooperated fully with the police during the investigation.

The tricycle owner later learned that his vehicle was spotted in Barangay Caranglaan, Dagupan City, where one of the suspects reportedly resides.

With the assistance of the Dagupan City Police Station, the stolen motorcycle was recovered, although several of its parts had already been replaced.

Due to the young age of the suspects, they could not be imprisoned, and both parties agreed to a settlement.

The tricycle owner only requested the return and restoration of his vehicle.
