VP Sara Duterte Returns to Philippines After Nearly a Month in Netherlands

Vice President Sara Z. Duterte has returned to the Philippines following an almost month-long stay in The Hague, Netherlands.

According to the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Duterte arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at around 9:56 PM via Emirates Airlines flight EK 334.

The Vice President had been in The Hague since March 12, shortly after the arrest of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for charges related to crimes against humanity.

The OVP stated that the Vice President is expected to issue statements in the coming days on significant matters she is currently facing.

Her return comes amid heightened political attention following the developments surrounding her father’s legal situation and ongoing issues in the domestic political landscape.
