This was announced by AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. during the Raisina Dialogue held from March 17 to 19, 2025, in New Delhi, India.

Brawner emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships, particularly with India, where the Philippines has successfully collaborated on the BrahMos missile system.

“We are looking at acquiring more missile systems to complete the integration of our air and missile defense. Alongside this, we will be purchasing more warships and multi-role fighter jets to build a strong and reliable deterrent force,” Brawner stated.

In addition to procurement, the AFP is exploring joint manufacturing, technology transfer, and local production in support of the country’s growing defense industry.
