Loboc River lighting is being considered to enhance tourism, according to Senator Lito Lapid, as he explores the feasibility of illuminating the famous tourist attraction in Loboc, Bohol.

Loboc River is one of Bohol’s most renowned tourist destinations, famous for its floating restaurants that offer scenic river cruises with live music and buffet-style dining.

Tourists flock to the area for its relaxing ambiance and breathtaking views, making it a key contributor to the province’s tourism industry.

During an inspection, Lapid revealed that Loboc Mayor Raymond Jala requested funding for the installation of lights to allow the Loboc River cruise to operate at night.

Previously, Mayor Jala suspended nighttime operations of floating restaurants after a typhoon damaged the area, leaving it dark and posing potential risks to tourists visiting the renowned destination.

Lapid stated that discussions are ongoing regarding the implementation of the proposed project in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), led by Mark Lapid.

If the project pushes through, the lighting of Loboc River will not only restore the night cruises but also create a more vibrant and safe environment for visitors.

This could potentially attract more tourists, boost local businesses, and further establish Loboc as a top travel destination in Bohol.

Senator Lapid serves as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism.

Mayor Jala expressed gratitude for Lapid’s support in restoring the nighttime operations of the Loboc River floating restaurants, emphasizing that improving infrastructure will significantly benefit the local economy.
