Three weather systems to bring rain and cloudy skies to parts of the Philippines, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The northeast monsoon, easterlies, and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to influence weather patterns in different regions.

Based on the state weather bureau’s 5 a.m. report, the northeast monsoon will affect northern and central Luzon, while the easterlies will bring impact to parts of Luzon and Visayas.

The ITCZ is expected to bring rainfall over Palawan and Mindanao in the coming days.

Weather specialist Castañeda noted that the northeast monsoon is gradually weakening, signaling the official transition to the dry season in the country.

Despite this, the easterlies—warm winds from the Pacific Ocean—could bring scattered rain showers, thunderstorms, and lightning to areas such as Catanduanes, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

It will also cause isolated rains in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), and the Bicol region.

Meanwhile, the ITCZ will continue to bring rains to Palawan, particularly in its southern areas, and across Mindanao, with its effects expected to persist for the next two days.

No gale warning has been issued, but the weather bureau advised fishermen to take precautions when venturing out to sea, particularly in Southern Luzon and Visayas, due to moderate sea conditions.

Residents in affected areas are also urged to remain vigilant against possible flooding and landslides.
