The Palace challenges fake news spreaders to present evidence proving that the photo posted by First Lady Liza Marcos on social media was edited.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro refuted claims that the image was altered and criticized detractors for spreading misinformation.

She asserted that those making accusations were not present during the meeting and have no firsthand knowledge of the event.

“Those who usually criticize are those who are not privy to any meeting. What can we expect from those who know nothing? Madaling magpretend na as if they know everything. Anyway, it is better to challenge these fake news vloggers/bloggers to show their own verified evidence that will counter that photo,” Castro stated.

First Lady Liza Marcos had posted a photo on her Facebook page, stating that it was taken during the regular meeting of the Asian Cultural Council at the Pangarap Clubhouse in Malacañang Park.

Following the post, social media users speculated that the image was photoshopped or manipulated.

Meanwhile, the Palace also denied allegations that U.S. authorities had intercepted the First Lady during her visit to America.

She had traveled to the U.S. for a working visit, where she attended the Meeting of the Minds and the Manila International Film Festival.
