Two Missing Foreign Nationals Found in Negros Oriental; Search for Four Others Ongoing

Two missing foreign nationals found in Negros Oriental after trekking in the dense forests of Sibulan, with search operations continuing for four others.

Authorities have located two of the six missing foreign nationals who went trekking in the forests of Sibulan, Negros Oriental on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Police Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson for the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, confirmed the development in an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo Cebu.

He stated that the two foreign nationals were found as a result of the ongoing search-and-rescue operations conducted by the police and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Efforts are still underway to locate the remaining four individuals in the vast forested areas spanning the barangays of Malabo, Valencia, Balinsasayao, and Sibulan in Negros Oriental.

Reports indicate that the six foreigners had planned to trek from Valencia to Twin Lakes in San Jose but failed to reach their destination due to the thick forest terrain.

Authorities are being assisted by a well-known search-and-rescue team, Team Malabo, based in Sibulan, to locate the missing individuals.
