12-Year-Old Boy Crushed to Death by Rocks While Fishing

A minor died after being crushed by rocks in a river in Barangay Taghuyan, Burauen, Leyte.

The victim was identified as a 12-year-old male resident of the said barangay.

According to Burauen Municipal Police Station Chief of Police, PMaj. John Rey Layog, the victim was attempting to fish when the rock he was standing on collapsed, crushing him.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim was with his sibling, who was doing laundry, while he was fishing.

While fishing, he moved across the rocks when suddenly, the rocks collapsed and crushed him.

His sibling immediately sought help.

It took approximately 30 minutes to remove the rocks that were crushing the victim.

The victim was found lifeless after the rocks were removed.
