House Speaker Martin Romualdez has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the families of the two Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilots who perished after an FA-50 fighter jet crashed in Bukidnon.
In a statement, Romualdez acknowledged the pilots’ sacrifice in fulfilling their mission.
Sa kanilang huling paglipad, dala nila ang pangarap ng bawat Pilipino para sa isang ligtas, payapa, at maunlad na bansa,” (They are not just soldiers; they are sons, brothers, and fathers who left their loved ones to fulfill a noble mission. In their final flight, they carried the dreams of every Filipino for a safe, peaceful, and prosperous nation) said Speaker Romualdez.
The House leadership assures its commitment to strengthening the AFP by continuously providing support for Filipino soldiers.
Reports indicate that the FA-50 fighter jet was reported missing on Tuesday.
Yesterday, AFP Eastern Mindanao Command confirmed that the two pilots were found lifeless by rescue teams.
We assure Congress that their blood and sweat will not be in vain. We will continue to strengthen our Armed Forces, ensure sufficient support for our soldiers, and fight for a nation where peace prevails) said Speaker Romualdez.
