The ROTC Fancy Drill Competition brought together Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from 17 Metro Manila universities, displaying their mastery of rifle drills in a highly competitive event.
Held at the Philippine Army Grandstand in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on March 2, 2025, the competition was part of the pre-128th Philippine Army Anniversary activities.
The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa ROTC Unit emerged victorious, surpassing 16 other universities with their synchronized team movements, precision timing, and intricate rifle maneuvers, all honed through months of rigorous training.
The University of Caloocan City secured the first runner-up position, while the Technological University of the Philippines claimed second runner-up honors.

Major General Ramon P. Zagala, Commander of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RCPA), lauded the cadets for their exceptional discipline and skill.
He highlighted the critical role of ROTC in nation-building by shaping future leaders, fostering community engagement, and instilling values essential for national development.
“Take pride in what you have achieved today. This event is a stepping stone for greater achievements in the future. Continue to march forward with excellence and purpose,” said Maj. Gen. Zagala.
Aligned with the theme “Matatag na Sandigan ng Bagong Pilipinas,” the event underscored the importance of ROTC units in supporting the Philippine Army’s mission in External Security Operations.
