PNP Boosts Police Visibility in Schools to Prevent Kidnapping

The PNP police visibility in schools will be intensified to prevent potential kidnapping incidents in key areas.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has begun coordinating with schools in Metro Manila, particularly international schools, to enhance security measures.

PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group Director Col. Elmer Ragay made the statement following the abduction of a student from an international school in Taguig City, whose kidnappers severed a finger.

Col. Ragay stated that the PNP has strengthened its information dissemination efforts by distributing anti-kidnapping materials and offering mobile teams for lectures on safety tips.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director PBGen. Anthony Aberin also confirmed that police presence is being reinforced in areas vulnerable to such crimes.

The PNP is also ramping up its anti-kidnapping awareness campaign on social media.
