Four Killed, 13 Injured in General Santos City Highway Collision

GENERAL SANTOS CITYA tragic highway collision on the Makar-South Cotabato Road in Barangay Apopong claimed four lives and injured 13 others on February 16, 2025.

The General Santos Traffic Enforcement Unit reported that a van and a pickup truck were traveling in opposite directions along the six-lane highway when the pickup veered into the van’s path, resulting in a head-on collision.

The van driver, identified as Rasol Angkob Adam, 56, of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, died on the spot. Three passengers of the van also perished: Mila L. Kanapia, 49, of Cotabato City; Mambai Adam Dimaraw, 58, of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao; and Mora Butuan Salilaguia, 62, of Buluan, Maguindanao.

Nine other van passengers sustained injuries, along with four individuals from the pickup truck, including its driver. All injured victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the accident to determine further details and possible liabilities.
