PCG deploys rescue teams to assist residents affected by severe flooding in the Mimaropa region, particularly in Palawan, due to heavy rains caused by the shear line.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) led evacuation and rescue operations in several flood-hit areas in Palawan, mobilizing the Deployable Response Group (DRG), teams from CG Station Central Palawan, and the Special Operations Group (SOG).

These units worked alongside local government agencies and other rescue teams to facilitate the mass evacuation of affected residents.

As of this morning, 151 families, totaling approximately 600 individuals, have been evacuated from Puerto Princesa City. They have been relocated to six designated evacuation centers, while others opted to seek temporary shelter with relatives and friends.

Evacuations are still ongoing in Puerto Princesa and other flood-stricken areas of Palawan as floodwaters continue to rise.

According to PCG reports, numerous homes have been inundated, with some areas experiencing waist-deep floodwaters.
