The Marcos and Duterte trust ratings have declined in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted in January 2025, sponsored by Stratbase Consultancy.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s trust rating dropped from 54% in December 2024 to 50% in January 2025.

Vice President Sara Duterte also saw a decline, with her rating falling from 52% in December to 49% in January.

According to Stratbase Institute President Prof. Dindo Manhit, the drop in the President’s trust rating is linked to rising inflation and the increasing prices of essential goods.

Meanwhile, Manhit attributed VP Duterte’s decline to unresolved questions regarding her office’s use of millions in confidential funds.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,800 registered voters nationwide from January 17 to 20.

Respondents were asked to rate their trust in various public figures using a scale from “very much” to “very little,” with weighted area estimates based on 2023 Commission on Elections (Comelec) precinct data.
