Father Beaten to Death by Own Son

A 79-year-old man was beaten to death by his own son in Barangay Tabucbuc, Marcos, Ilocos Norte, according to local authorities.

Marcos Municipal Police Station Chief, P/Capt. Roi Manuel Ordonio, identified the victim as Pedro Tolentino Mateo, a farmer and resident of Sitio 6, Barangay Tabucbuc.

The suspect was identified as Joel Pasion Mateo, 44, also a farmer and resident of the same barangay.

Initial police investigation revealed that the victim suffered multiple injuries from the beating, which ultimately led to his death.

The elderly man was rushed to Doña Josefa Edralin Marcos District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Authorities have taken the suspect into custody, and he is expected to face appropriate criminal charges.
