The Philippine Army (PA) and Megaworld Corporation have officially launched the “PA-Megaworld ‘Pag-Alab’ Program Partnership,” aimed at fostering nationalism, patriotism, volunteerism, and social responsibility for national development.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing at Alliance Tower, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, on January 22, 2025.
Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, Commanding General of the Philippine Army, emphasized that peace and development are interconnected and that private sector engagement is crucial in promoting nationalism and resilience.
He highlighted that Megaworld’s media platforms could play a significant role in shaping public perception and strengthening national unity, which benefits both security and economic growth.
Megaworld Corporation President, Ms. Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, expressed gratitude to the Philippine Army for supporting the company’s environmental and sustainability initiatives.
She also commended the Army’s commitment to nation-building, aligning with Megaworld’s vision of national security, environmental responsibility, and community development.
Under the agreement, Megaworld will feature Philippine Army messages and campaigns on nationalism and patriotism across its townships, lifestyle cinemas, LED walls, and other media platforms.
Megaworld, the country’s largest township developer, currently operates 20 lifestyle malls in major urban centers and integrates residential, commercial, educational, and leisure components into its developments.
Beyond the public affairs partnership, the Philippine Army and Megaworld also explored future collaborations, including Army base and estate development and employment opportunities for retiring Army personnel.
