A fur parent became emotional after the death of his beloved dog due to illness.

According to Albert Manalo of Oyo Torong St. Kalibo, he considered his dogs as his own children, which is why he gave his deceased dog a proper funeral.

Like a typical human wake, the dog named Mikko was placed in a coffin surrounded by funeral wreaths and lit candles.

Manalo added that he treated the 15-year-old aspen like his own child before it passed away the previous day due to a swollen spleen.

Despite the pain of losing his pet, which he still cries over, Manalo tries not to be too affected as he is 70 years old and must avoid stress and depression.

He shared that his bond with Mikko was so strong that he did not consider the dog an animal but a person, as they were affectionate and even slept side by side.

Each of his dogs has its own caretaker, and now only five remain to attend to their needs. Manalo also feeds and distributes dog food during their birthdays.
