Shiela Guo, the sister of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, has confirmed to senators the details of their escape from the Philippines. She revealed that she, along with Alice and Wesley Guo, fled the country together.

According to Shiela, they traveled by boat to reach Indonesia. “Sakay po kami ng boat sa dagat,” (We boarded a boat at sea,) Shiela said during the Senate hearing.

Before boarding the boat, they were picked up by a van from their home.

However, Shiela admitted that she was unaware of the location where they were dropped off.

“Dito lang po kasi galing kami sa bahay, tapos may [nagsundo] sa amin na isang sasakyan,” (We left from our home, then a vehicle picked us up,) she added.

Senators from the Subcommittee on Justice and Human Rights believe that this information could significantly aid their ongoing investigation.

Alice Guo, a former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, has been embroiled in legal controversies that led to her dismissal from office.

Her dismissal was related to charges of corruption, and she has been accused of various illegal activities during her tenure as mayor.

Facing potential arrest and legal repercussions, Alice Guo, along with her family, managed to flee the Philippines under mysterious circumstances.

Their escape became a major point of interest, particularly after reports surfaced that they had evaded authorities and reached Indonesia by sea.

The circumstances of their flight have raised questions about the possible involvement of local officials or other parties in facilitating their escape.

The ongoing investigation by the Senate’s subcommittee on justice and human rights aims to uncover the full details of the Guo family’s evasion, with Shiela Guo’s testimony seen as a crucial piece of the puzzle.
