Young Couple Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

A student was killed while another was injured after their motorcycle was hit by a passenger bus along the National Highway in Barangay Castillo, Echague, Isabela.

The motorcycle was driven by Ryan Galande, 22, a resident of Barangay District 1, Cauayan City, Isabela, while his passenger was identified as Angelique Kendica, 23, a resident of Barangay Castillo, Echague, Isabela.

According to PCapt. Heherson Serafica, Deputy Chief of Police of the Echague Police Station, both the motorcycle and the bus, driven by John Michael Pascual, a resident of Masaya Centro, San Agustin, Isabela, were traveling southbound.

As they reached the incident site, the motorcycle slowed down to make a left turn, but the bus was overtaking at the same time. When the bus returned to its lane, it hit the motorcycle.

The victims sustained serious injuries, with the backrider succumbing to her wounds.

The motorcycle had signaled its intention to turn, but the bus driver may not have noticed due to the overtaking maneuver.

It was learned that the two victims were a couple and were on their way to the woman’s boarding house when the accident occurred.

The bus driver is now in the custody of the Echague Police Station for proper disposition.
