In the National Capital Region (NCR), Muslim employees are allowed to take the day off from work.

The holiday is based on the Muslim Personal Laws, specifically Article 169 of Presidential Decree No. 1083 enacted in 1977, and is also recognized under the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Resolution No. 81-1277 issued in 1981.

Isra Wal Miraj is a significant event in Islam that commemorates Prophet Muhammad’s journey from Mecca to Jerusalem (Isra) and his ascension to heaven (Miraj) in a single night.

The occasion is observed through special prayers, Quran reflections, and emphasis on its spiritual significance.
