Senators clarified that the dinner hosted by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at Malacañang last night was a “purely social” gathering.

According to Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, the event was part of the regular or seasonal gatherings between Senate members and the President.

He emphasized that there was no formal program or political discussions, describing the evening as a “chill dinner.”

Escudero added that all senators were invited, including Senator Grace Poe, who arrived late.

Contrary to Senator Imee Marcos’ earlier statement that she was not invited, Escudero maintained that invitations were extended to all senators without exception.

Senator JV Ejercito also dismissed speculations linking the dinner to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) peace rally, reiterating that no political issues were discussed during the event.
