Grammys 2025 will take place as planned despite catastrophic LA wildfires; Ceremony to support relief efforts

The 2025 Grammy Awards will proceed as scheduled on February 2, despite delays of other award shows and events caused by the devastation and wake of the Los Angeles wildfires.

In a statement to members of the Recording Academy, CEO Harvey Mason Jr. has confirmed that the Grammys will push through.

“In close coordination with local authorities to ensure public safety and responsible use of area resources, the 67th GRAMMY Awards telecast on CBS on February 2nd will proceed as planned.”

The CEO added that the awarding ceremony will highlight their support for those affected by the wildfires.

“This year’s show will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.”

Meanwhile, the Recording Academy and MusiCares also announced that they have launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort, and will be donating over $1 million in emergency aid for music professionals, creatives, and their families affected by the wildfires.

The 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be taking place at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown LA.

Los Angeles is known as the entertainment capital of the world, seen as the central depiction in music, television, movies, and pop culture, and is the home base of Hollywood.

As of January 14th, the Los Angeles wildfires have claimed the lives of at least 25 people. Over 150,000 residents have been evacuated, and numerous homes, structures, and businesses have been destroyed on more than 40,000 acres across California.
