PRINCESS Marcial, wife of Filipino boxer Eumir Marcial, has filed a court case against the Olympic bronze medalist, accusing him of abuse, infidelity, and manipulative behavior.
The revelation was made in a Facebook post by Princess on Friday, January 10, where she detailed what she called a “sickening love affair.”
Princess recounted an incident in October last year when she and her sister caught Eumir with a woman, identified as Jessa Santos, in a Pasay condominium. The discovery occurred just months after Marcial’s early exit from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Following the confrontation, Eumir and Santos were detained for five days. However, they were released after Princess signed an affidavit of desistance, hoping to reconcile and repair their marriage.
“Despite my family’s strong disapproval, I gave Eumir multiple chances to make amends in our marriage, considering everything we’ve endured and overcome as a couple,” Princess shared in her now-viral post.
“As his wife, I felt a sense of duty to forgive him,” she added.
However, things reportedly worsened. Princess alleged that Eumir returned to Zamboanga, his home province, with his mistress, using their joint savings to build a house for the two of them.
“I’ve been in touch with trusted friends in Zamboanga City who confirmed that Eumir and his mistress have decided to live together,” she wrote. “He withdrew all our savings and used the money to construct their house.”
Princess also claimed she received threats from Eumir, including warnings that she would not receive anything if they separated.
“I had to cut all communication with him after enduring trauma, manipulation, emotional stress, physical abuse, and psychological torment,” she said.
While Princess did not disclose details of the case, she stated that her decision to go public was driven by concerns for her safety and that of her family and potential witnesses.
“A significant reason for making this public is my serious concern for our safety, especially with Eumir’s connections as a well-known athlete,” she explained.
The couple tied the knot in 2021, the same year Eumir won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, in a grand wedding attended by prominent figures, including Manny Pacquiao. Before their marriage, Princess and Eumir had been together for nine years.
A native of Cagayan de Oro, Princess is the daughter of former boxing trainer and referee Reynaldo Galarpe and the niece of amateur Asian boxing gold medalist Roberto Jalnaiz.
Eumir, who turned professional in 2020, has a spotless 5-0 record in his boxing career.
However, he failed to secure a second Olympic medal after losing his opening bout at the Paris Games.
