Fatal Road Accident Claims Young Motorcyclist’s Life

An 18-year-old motorcyclist died in a fatal road accident in Barangay Lacuben, Badoc, Ilocos Norte, on January 1, 2025, at around 6 PM.

According to the Badoc Police Station, the motorcyclist was driving a Honda XRM and was a resident of Barangay Camestizoan, Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur, originally from Barangay Del Carmen Uzon, Masbate.

The other vehicles involved were a Toyota Hilux driven by a 64-year-old resident of Barangay Lacuben, Badoc, and a Toyota Wigo driven by a 60-year-old resident of Tuguegarao City.

The investigation revealed that the motorcycle was heading south when it swerved into the opposite lane, colliding with the Hilux traveling west along the national highway.

The impact threw the motorcyclist onto the middle of the road, where he was struck by the Wigo traveling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist had reportedly attended a birthday party in Currimao before the incident occurred.

He was rushed to Karmelli Hospital and later transferred to Corpuz Clinic and Hospital in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Allan Bumanglag.

Both the Hilux and Wigo drivers were unharmed and have cooperated with the ongoing investigation.

The tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety, especially during holiday celebrations.
