Restobar Turns Deadly: Two Dead, Several Injured

Two people were killed and several others injured in a shooting incident at a restobar in Barangay Villa Norte, Maddela, Quirino.

The Quirino Provincial Police Office (PPO) confirmed the fatalities as Crisel P. Cayong, 26, and Ej Rodriguez, both residents of Barangay Divisoria Sur, Maddela, Quirino.

Those injured in the shooting include Kesha, 19; June Dave, 26; Edward, 26; and Mike, 23, all residents of Maddela.

A hot pursuit operation by a joint team of PNP Maddela, PNP Aglipay, 1st and 2nd Quirino Provincial Mobile Force Company (QPMFC), and Quirino Police Provincial Office (QPPO) successfully intercepted the suspects attempting to flee in a van in Barangay Palacian, Aglipay, Quirino.

Among those apprehended were Pat. Dave Macanas of RMFB-15, Police Regional Office Cordillera, along with several other individuals from Itogon, Benguet; Maddela, Quirino; and Tukukan, Tinoc, Ifugao.

One suspect, “Alyas Manny,” 23, a resident of Banaue, Ifugao, remains at large.

The apprehended suspects are now in the custody of PNP Maddela for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.

Police are currently investigating the motive behind the crime.
