After nearly four years of planning, Boracay Island has finally launched its much-anticipated unified ticketing system for tourists, with the Aklan provincial government initiating the iPass system in partnership with PisoPay.

Businessman Bong Tirol stated in an interview with Bombo Radyo that the initiative aims to provide online registration for the environmental fee, terminal fee, and boat fee, with PisoPay assisting the provincial government in implementing the iPass, which is expected to facilitate easier travel to the island for local and foreign tourists, especially during the expected influx of vacationers this holiday season.

PisoPay will collect P150 for terminal fees, P150 for environmental fees, and P50 for the boat fare, while foreign tourists will be charged P300 for environmental fees.

Tourists are encouraged to pre-register using the PisoPay website, where PisoPay staff will also be available to assist tourists at their booth at the Caticlan Jetty Port.

A similar application for residents is expected to be launched next year.
