Delivery Man on Horseback Dies After Being Swept Away by Flood

The Bansalan Police Station reported the discovery of a man’s lifeless body in a river in Barangay Managa, Davao del Sur.

The victim was identified as Marjun B. Lachica, who was delivering goods on horseback when the incident occurred.

According to his mother, Emeterio E. Lachica, the incident happened around 3 p.m. on December 20, 2024.

Despite the strong floodwaters, Marjun attempted to cross the river to deliver products to a neighboring barangay.

He and his horse were swept away by the current, leading to his tragic death.

The victim’s body was found over a kilometer away from the site of the incident.

Authorities brought the body to Brillantes Funeral Home, where a postmortem examination is pending.
