Newly Licensed Civil Engineer Dies in Motorcycle Accident

A newly licensed civil engineer tragically died in a motorcycle accident in Barangay Daramuangan Sur, San Mateo, Isabela, early morning on December 19, 2024.

The victim, identified as Engr. Angelica Pason, was driving the motorcycle, which crashed into a concrete barrier, causing her death.

Two passengers, Kristine Baptista and April Sagun, both residents of Gaddanan, San Mateo, Isabela, sustained injuries from the crash.

According to reports, the victims were on their way home after attending Simbang Gabi and stopping for snacks in San Mateo town.

The motorcycle lost control, resulting in a self-imposed accident, which prompted Rescue San Mateo to respond immediately.

Pason was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, while her companions were treated for their injuries.

Her grandfather, Consuelo Pason Jr., revealed in an interview that Angelica was supposed to travel to Manila for her oathtaking as a civil engineer.

He described the victim as kind and obedient, adding that she lived with her grandparents while her mother and siblings worked abroad.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the accident.
