52-Year-Old Balut Vendor Killed in Road Accident

A 52-year-old balut vendor tragically lost her life after being struck by a speeding car in Koronadal City early Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The victim, identified as Jenny Pabillona Asarcon, a resident of Purok Nursery, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Koronadal City, was pushing her bicycle along the roadside when she was hit by a fast-moving white car with no headlights.

Police investigations revealed that the vehicle was traveling from the roundball area toward Banga when the accident occurred along Alunan Avenue near Barangay Zone IV.

Asarcon was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending medical personnel.

The 23-year-old driver of the car, a resident of Banga, South Cotabato, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities shortly after the incident.

This tragic accident has highlighted road safety concerns in Koronadal City, urging local authorities to enforce stricter regulations on speeding and vehicle maintenance.
