PHILIPPINE boxing legend Manny Pacquiao will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2025, the organization announced Thursday.

At 45 years old, Pacquiao’s remarkable career spanned from 1995 to 2021, during which he captured world titles across multiple weight classes, from flyweight (112 pounds) to super welterweight (154 pounds).

He retired with an impressive record of 62 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws.

Pacquiao is among 14 individuals, including fellow boxers Michael Nunn and Vinny Paz, and referee Kenny Bayless, who will be honored in a ceremony from June 5-8, 2025, in Canastota, New York.

“I’m so happy to be selected for the Hall of Fame. This is a wonderful Christmas gift,” Pacquiao said. “Throughout my career, my goal was to bring honor to my country, the Philippines, and to my fellow Filipinos around the world.”

Pacquiao follows in the footsteps of fellow Filipino boxing icon Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, who became the first Asian to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993.

Pacquiao expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am humbled knowing that in June, I will receive boxing’s highest honor, joining Flash Elorde and my trainer, Freddie Roach.”

One of Pacquiao’s most historic achievements came in 2019, when at age 40, he became the oldest welterweight champion in boxing history by defeating American Keith Thurman to claim the WBA crown.

Throughout his career, Pacquiao defeated several boxing greats, including Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto.
