Local barangay officials were patrolling the area when they heard two gunshots but initially ignored them, assuming it was just children playing with firecrackers.

A concerned citizen later alerted them to a man lying on the road.

The victim’s father, who had seen his son the night before to celebrate a sibling’s birthday, was shocked to hear of the tragic incident.

The victim’s partner revealed that an unknown man had called her the day before, asking for him.
