PH Navy Helicopter Crashes at Sangley Airport, Injures 5 Crew Members

Two pilots and three crew members were injured after a Philippine Navy helicopter crashed at Sangley Airport in Cavite City this morning.

The Naval Helicopter NH432 had just taken off for a functional check flight following a 400-hour scheduled maintenance inspection.

The helicopter crashed during its third sortie while attempting to land, according to initial reports.

Navy Spokesperson Commander John Percie Alcos confirmed that the injured crew members were quickly rescued and are now in stable condition.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has suspended all take-off and landing operations at Sangley Airport pending clearance of the crash site.
