Manalo’s winning costume, titled “Hiraya,” emphasized the rich religious heritage of the Philippines.

Designed by Manny Halasan, the costume featured patterns inspired by Islamic art, the traditional Puni craft of Bulacan, and the image of Our Lady of Antipolo.
