P20.5M Worth of Illegal Drugs Seized from Live-In Partners in Cebu City

Authorities seized P20.5 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, on Friday night, November 29, 2024.

The operation, led by the Cebu City Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas, and personnel from Waterfront Police Station 3, targeted high-value drug suspects.

Police recovered 3,020 grams of shabu from live-in partners Joanna Gallado and Raymund Jorge, alias “Bagmon,” who are residents of Back Blessed, Barangay Tejero.

Raymund Jorge was identified as a high-value individual on the drug watchlist and allegedly distributed one kilogram of drugs weekly across Cebu City and nearby areas.

Cebu City Police Director PCol. Antonietto Cañete revealed that the drugs reportedly came from Mindanao and were supplied to key cities like Mandaue, Talisay, and Lapu-Lapu.

Col. Cañete emphasized their intensified efforts to combat crime and maintain public safety, particularly ahead of the Christmas and Sinulog 2025 celebrations.

The suspects are currently detained at the Waterfront Police Station in Cebu City as they await formal charges.
