Philippines Named World’s Leading Dive Destination for 2024

The Philippines has been named the World’s Leading Dive Destination for 2024 by the World Travel Awards (WTA), marking its sixth win.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) announced the achievement on Thursday, highlighting the country’s continued excellence in dive tourism.

Boracay was recognized as the World’s Leading Luxury Island Destination, while Manila received the title of World’s Leading City Destination.

Amanpulo, a luxury resort in Palawan, was honored as the World’s Leading Dive Resort for its exceptional service and pristine waters.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco emphasized the DOT’s commitment to promoting sustainable dive tourism during the Philippine Dive Experience launch in Anilao.

The WTA awarding ceremony took place on November 24 in Madeira, a group of Atlantic islands.

The DOT was also named the World’s Leading Tourist Board, further affirming the country’s global tourism leadership.

City of Dreams Manila secured the title of World’s Leading Casino Resort, showcasing the country’s appeal across various travel sectors.

In 2023, the Philippines also received awards for being the World’s Leading Beach Destination and the World’s Leading City Destination for Manila.

The country continues to solidify its position as a premier global destination for diverse travel experiences.
