Gadon files disbarment complaint against VP Sara Duterte

MANILA — Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Secretary Larry Gadon filed a disbarment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte before the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday.

Gadon, a lawyer who is himself disbarred, urged the High Court to take up the case and initiate a motu proprio disbarment proceeding against Duterte following her recent remarks against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

In his complaint, Gadon argued that Duterte’s statements, which were widely heard by millions of Filipinos, were “illegal, immoral, and condemnable.” He stated that, as a lawyer, Duterte should face disbarment for her actions.

As of now, Vice President Duterte has not responded to the issue.
