The National Security Council (NSC) has classified Vice President Sara Duterte’s alleged threat against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as a national security concern.
National Security Adviser Eduardo Año announced that the NSC will investigate Duterte’s statement about contracting someone to kill the President.
Año assured the public that all necessary actions will be taken to hold accountable those behind any threats against the President.
The NSC has coordinated with authorities and intelligence agencies to analyze the nature and motives of the threat against the country’s leader.
Año also called for calm, emphasizing that their agency is committed to upholding the Constitution, protecting democratic institutions, and maintaining the chain of command.
He reiterated the NSC’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of President Marcos Jr. at all times.
