PNP faces complaint over alleged torture of suspect in 18-year-old’s murder

ILOILO CITY– The Iloilo City Police Station 4 was reported to Bombo Radyo by the family of one of the suspects involved in the shooting death of an 18-year-old boy on MH Del Pilar Street, Barangay Taal, Molo, Iloilo City.

The victim was John Chris Mark Gapol, a resident of Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City.

One of the suspects, who is reportedly being tortured, is Ryan Kent ‘RK’ Magbanua, a resident as well of Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Mrs. Elizabeth Magbanua, the mother of Ryan Kent, said she was shocked when she saw that her son had many bruises and was weak when they visited him.

According to Magbanua, her son confessed to being tortured by the police after being arrested in connection with Gapol’s killing.

When the mother saw her son, she said he appeared to have been tortured.

Magbanua also accused the police of harassing the suspect when he was first arrested at their home, something her son witnessed firsthand.

She stated that she did not raise her son to become a criminal.
