Two out of three villages in Adams, Ilocos Norte, remain isolated following damage caused by Typhoon Marce and subsequent storms.
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Head Julius Cascayan confirmed the situation.
Cascayan noted that while access to Sitio Sinidangan has partially reopened, the path remains difficult due to muddy terrain.
Sitios Cadisan and Bucarot, however, are still inaccessible, isolating dozens of residents.
According to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, about 55 families are affected in the two isolated sitios.
Cascayan explained that delivering relief goods requires motorcycles or travel on foot due to severely damaged roads.
He emphasized that the local government of Adams is working with the Department of Public Works and Highways, the provincial government, and Congressman Sandro Marcos’s office for road repairs.
Power and communication lines had recently been restored but were lost again last night due to damage to electric posts.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police assisted in the preemptive evacuation of a family from Poblacion 1.
