Sorsogon Readies Aid for Catanduanes After Super Typhoon Pepito’s Impact

LEGAZPI CITY – The provincial government of Sorsogon has assured that it is prepared to extend aid to Catanduanes in the wake of Super Typhoon Pepito, as part of its ongoing commitment to support neighboring provinces.

Dong Mendoza, spokesperson for the Sorsogon provincial government, confirmed in an interview with Bombo Radyo Legazpi that they are coordinating with the Catanduanes government to determine the most effective assistance they can provide.

He added that Sorsogon has heavy equipment and teams ready to assist in road clearing operations to expedite recovery efforts.

Mendoza emphasized that Sorsogon’s commitment to aid Catanduanes has been consistent, citing their similar response during Typhoon Rolly, which struck Catanduanes in November 2020.

Earlier, in a separate interview with Bombo Radyo Legazpi, Catanduanes Governor Boboy Cua mentioned that the province needs substantial assistance to accelerate the recovery of residents affected by the storm.
