The Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO) continues to assist residents voluntarily evacuating due to the impending threat of Typhoon Pepito.

According to PCPT. Liza Jane Alteza, CSPPO Public Information Officer, many residents began evacuating as early as yesterday from different parts of Camarines Sur, including Naga City, fearing a repeat of the devastation caused by Typhoon Kristine.

Several evacuation centers are already filled with evacuees, and more people continue to arrive seeking shelter.

Local governments across Camarines Sur assured evacuees that they would receive adequate assistance and necessary provisions.

The provincial government and several LGUs began enforcing force evacuation yesterday, even before heavy rains arrived, especially in coastal areas prone to flooding and landslides, to prevent casualties.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, along with the police, has been transporting families to designated evacuation centers.

Typhoon Pepito’s effects are already being felt in coastal areas, with large waves crashing onto roads.
