Typhoon Ofel Prompts Flood Warnings Across 5 Philippine Regions

The state weather bureau has reissued a General Flood Advisory for five regions in the Philippines today.

The affected regions include the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region (Region 1), Cagayan Valley (Region 2), CALABARZON (Region 4A), Bicol Region (Region 5), and Eastern Visayas (Region 8).

The flood threat is due to the approach of Typhoon Ofel, which is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall.

In Eastern Visayas, the warning covers Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Samar, and Southern Leyte.

In CAR, areas at risk include Benguet, Mt. Province, Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Abra.

All provinces in the Ilocos Region, namely Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, and La Union, are also under flood warning.

In Cagayan Valley, Isabela, Quirino, Cagayan, and Nueva Vizcaya are identified as high-risk areas.

In CALABARZON, Quezon province is the only area specifically named in the advisory.

These areas have experienced continuous rainfall over the past weeks, starting with Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in mid-October.
