A woman died from electrocution during Typhoon Nika in Barangay Garit Norte, Echague, Isabela.
Bombo Radyo Cauayan interviewed Jenny Hanna Lorenzo, the victim’s daughter, who shared that their family was inside their home waiting for rescue.
The victim had warned her family to stay indoors due to the danger outside, so they were shocked to learn she had stepped out.
The woman may have gone outside to meet the rescuers but stepped on a live wire hanging from a fallen mango tree.
Her daughter explained that her mother likely attempted to open the gate, unaware the exposed wire would be fatal.
Although the family rushed her to the hospital, she was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Reports indicate there was no power supply at the time of the incident.
