Worker Dies from Electrocution at Mall Construction

A construction worker died after being electrocuted at a mall construction site in Brgy. 51-B, Nangalisan, Laoag City.

The victim was identified as Michael John Santiago y Dalicon, 34, a stay-in worker at the site and a resident of Brgy. Bonoan, Dagupan, Pangasinan.

According to the Laoag City Police Station, Duty Security Guard Freddie Sinfuego Lactam reported seeing the victim lying unresponsive, gripping a spotlight stand connected to a live wire.

The security guard called the Department of Public Safety Paramedics, who rushed the victim to the hospital.

Despite efforts, City Health Officer Dr. Rodrigo Catcatan declared the victim dead from cardiac arrest secondary to electrocution.

It was later discovered that the victim had been unnoticed for four hours before being found.
