Malacañang Announces Official 2025 Holidays

Adds INC Founding Anniversary as Special Nonworking Day

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has officially declared the holidays and special nonworking days for 2025, including a newly established observance for the founding anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Proclamation No. 727 on October 30, outlining the list of official holidays for the upcoming year.

The regular holidays include

  • New Year’s Day (Jan. 1),
  • Araw ng Kagitingan (April 9),
  • Maundy Thursday (April 17),
  • Good Friday (April 18),
  • Labor Day (May 1),
  • Independence Day (June 12),
  • National Heroes Day (Aug. 25),
  • Bonifacio Day (Nov. 30),
  • Christmas Day (Dec. 25), and
  • Rizal Day (Dec. 30).

Special nonworking days are:

  • Ninoy Aquino Day (Aug. 21),
  • All Saints’ Day (Nov. 1),
  • Feast of the Immaculate Conception (Dec. 8), and the
  • Last Day of the Year (Dec. 31).

The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary, falling on Tuesday, February 25, will remain a special working day, continuing last year’s status change from a nonworking holiday.

Nonworking days also include Chinese New Year (Jan. 29), Black Saturday (April 19), Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), and All Saints’ Day Eve (Oct. 31).

Islamic holidays Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha will be set according to the lunar calendar, following announcements from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.

Additionally, President Marcos signed Proclamation No. 729, designating July 27, 2025, as a special nonworking day nationwide to honor the INC founding anniversary.

The proclamations direct the Department of Labor and Employment to issue guidelines for private-sector employees concerning holiday pay
