Body of Missing Teen Found in Mactan Waters After Typhoon Kristine’s Onslaught

The body of a 15-year-old boy who went missing while swimming during Typhoon Kristine was found in the waters of Mactan Island, Cebu.

Rescue divers located the body of Sean Clinton Pedrosa this Friday morning in Sitio Lupa, Barangay Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City.

Pedrosa was last seen swimming with his girlfriend on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, amid strong waves brought by Typhoon Kristine.

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan confirmed the body was found near a beach hotel by rescue teams, including CENRO, CDRRMO, Philippine Coast Guard Lapu-Lapu Sub-station, and Korean Diving Volunteers.

The local government has provided burial assistance to Pedrosa’s family and has pledged further support if needed.

Authorities remind the public to avoid water activities during severe weather conditions, especially when large waves are present.
